Syllabus

1. Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student must have acquired the aims, objectives, activities and actions of the services aimed at the prevention, promotion, protection and education of the child and his family unit. You will have to know the basic aspects of obstetrics and gynecological pathologies, learn the basic notions of pediatrics, the characteristics of the healthy child, the prevention of child pathologies, know the basics of child neuropsychiatry in order to prepare screening and prevention programs for childhood, nursing, neuropsychiatric and rehabilitation techniques will be learned with the aim of undertaking preventive actions, knowing the techniques for the prevention of pathologies in childhood.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course the student must have acquired the ability to carry out specific family support interventions through network resources.
3. Making judgements: at the end of the course the student must be able to use observation in different contexts of social and health interaction in their profession.
4. Communication skills: at the end of the course the student must be able to experience the ability to analyze and think of methodologies for socio-emotional education and the prevention of youth distress.
5. Learning ability: at the end of the course the student must be able to independently delve into the topics covered in the course, also by consulting specific bibliography texts.

Health promotion and prevention in the obstetrics-gynecology field. Pediatrics as an age of changes, from birth to adolescence through screening in newborns, infants, children and adolescents.
The factors and causes that influence the maintenance of health in developmental age. The identification of needs, risks and resources, problem solving techniques.
The transversal process of integrated social and health care in the developmental age 0-18 years.
Methodology and techniques of the Health Assistant for socio-emotional education. Territorial social and health services for children and adolescents and parental figures.
The course also aims to introduce the fundamentals of knowledge of the main diagnostic pictures found in childhood and adolescence and their early identification and differentiation; aims to explore the importance of the multidisciplinary approach for the evaluation, diagnosis and management of the main disorders in developmental age; it is proposed to delve deeper into the criteria for detecting risk situations for a possible indication for specialist in-depth analysis; it is also proposed to deepen the relevance of networking with other health services, social services and schools, for the early identification of cases at risk and for the management of the main clinical pictures considered; the organization of the Child Neuropsychiatry service and the Family Consultancy will be described, as an opportunity to get to know the main professional figures involved in the evaluation, diagnosis and management work and the main activities carried out as a mandate

Global concept of health according to the WHO, promoting and educating about health, lifestyles, increasing and gaining health in the developmental age of 0-18 years. Services for the family: protection of minors, foster care, adoption, family mediation, home visits.
The methodology of the profession in the consultancy field with particular reference to maintaining the health of the healthy child, support for parenting, early identification of possible risks that threaten the psycho-physical integrity of the child and the mother starting from the pre-conception period, pregnancy , childbirth, the newborn, its growth and evolution.
Aims and actions of the adolescent space, sexual and socio-emotional education. Birth preparation course, home care in the puerperium, promotion and support of breastfeeding, neglect and mistreatment of children. Notions relating to health promotion and prevention in the obstetric-gynecological field, in particular on vaccines, infections, screening, preconception period, gestation and childbirth. Initiatives to support mothers in starting and continuing breastfeeding with the management of challenges that may arise; knowledge of the mother-child relationship, developing a culture of breastfeeding and correct nutrition for mother and child through effective communication.
The Help Relationship based on disorders, empathy, listening, acceptance, alliance and caring. Rights of children and adolescents. Phases of neuropsychodevelopmental development. The child with communication difficulties. The main neurodevelopmental disorders in which there is a deficit or alteration of communicative function: autism spectrum disorders, language disorders.
Therapeutic intervention in children with learning difficulties and special educational needs. The child and adolescent with behavioral difficulties and disorders. Health promotion interventions: the importance of counseling parents and adolescents. Outline of the child and adolescent with eating disorder. Adult neuropsychiatry: outline of main neurodegenerative diseases and treatments. National guidelines for developmental and adult age. Methodology of taking drug therapy for adults and children. Aggression and self-directed violence.
